How does God teach us lessons through difficulties?

Answered in 1 source

God uses our struggles to teach us dependence on Him and refine our faith.

The wilderness experiences described in Scripture symbolize times when God teaches His people vital truths about reliance and faith. Just as He led Israel through the wilderness for 40 years to instill a reliance on Him, modern believers often face personal difficulties to learn the same dependence. These trials strip away self-sufficiency and bring about a deeper understanding of our need for God. In the trials, we learn humility and resilience, shaping our character and faith as we acknowledge that every victory comes through God’s provision and strength.
