How does God use trials to show His love?

Answered in 1 source

God uses trials to reveal our need for Him, teach patience, and affirm His love toward us (Romans 5:3-5).

In times of trial, God poignantly demonstrates His love by bringing us to the end of our own strength, reminding us of our total dependence on His grace. When faced with tribulations, we are led to recognize our weaknesses, thus fostering patience and submission to His will. Romans 5 details how tribulation produces patience, and patience experience, which strengthens our hope. This cycle affirms not only our need for God but also that His love is steadfast and unchanging, continually reminding us of our secure standing in Christ.
