How does God use troubles for His purpose?

Answered in 1 source

God uses troubles to provoke us to seek Him and grow spiritually, ultimately leading to our deliverance.

In Judges 6, we see that God allowed the Israelites to face oppression from the Midianites as a form of discipline, not as an act of anger. This oppression served a divine purpose: to prompt the Israelites to recognize their need for God and call out for His help. The troubles we encounter are often necessary reminders of our frailty and sinfulness, pushing us to seek divine assistance. In Romans 5:3-5, hardships are shown to produce perseverance, character, and hope, reinforcing the idea that God uses difficult circumstances to grow us spiritually. He is committed to our spiritual well-being, even if it requires difficulty to turn our hearts toward Him. Thus, troubles can become instruments of grace that lead us back to reliance on God, allowing us to experience His mercy and deliverance in ways we may not otherwise have sought.
