How does grace provide comfort to the afflicted?

Answered in 1 source

Grace provides comfort by assuring the afflicted that Christ has borne their sin and that they are righteous in Him.

The comfort for the afflicted comes through the understanding that Christ has fully borne our sins and secured our righteousness before God. As believers, recognizing that we are nothing but sin, we find refuge in Christ's redemptive work. God's grace assures us that despite our failings, we have been accepted in the Beloved, and our standing before God is no longer based on our performance but solely on Christ's obedience and sacrifice. It is through grace that we are comforted in our vulnerability and weakness, knowing that Christ's affliction has paid the price for our sin.
