How does humility relate to the grace of God?

Answered in 1 source

Humility is tied to recognizing our need for God's grace and that our righteousness comes solely from Him.

Humility leads us to acknowledge that, in the sight of God, even our best works are inadequate without His grace. As stated in Isaiah 64:6, 'all our righteous acts are like filthy rags.' Realizing this, we see that our hope is entirely reliant on Christ's righteousness. The Apostle Paul reinforces this principle in Romans 7, where he laments his inability to be holy on his own. Therefore, to grow in humility is to grow in our awareness of our need for God's grace in every aspect of our lives, both for salvation and sanctification, as expressed in 1 Corinthians 15:10.
