How does ignorance of Christ affect one's relationship with God?

Answered in 1 source

Ignorance of Christ leads to ignorance of God, preventing true understanding and relationship with the Father.

In John 8:19, Jesus reveals to the Pharisees that their ignorance of Him equates to ignorance of the Father: 'Ye neither know me nor my Father.' This underscores a fundamental truth: one cannot know God apart from knowing Christ. Many may possess knowledge of religious practices or scripture but lack the personal relationship that comes through faith in Jesus. Consequently, their understanding of God’s character, love, and justice remains skewed and incomplete. Real knowledge of God is accessible only through a relationship with Jesus, who both reveals the Father and satisfies His righteous demands, making Him the way to true communion with God.
