How does Jesus fulfill His role as a high priest?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus fulfills His role as a high priest by offering Himself as a perfect sacrifice for sin and interceding for believers.

In His role as a high priest, Jesus embodies the unique qualifications required to mediate between God and man. Unlike the earthly priests who offered animal sacrifices, Jesus offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice, thereby fulfilling the sacrificial system once and for all. His perfection and obedience to the will of the Father enabled Him to become the author of eternal salvation. Moreover, His intercessory prayers illustrate His commitment to continually advocate for those He has redeemed. This dual role of sacrifice and intercession is what sets Jesus apart as both high priest and savior, providing believers with a secure relationship with God.
