How does Jesus fulfill the righteousness we hunger for?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus fulfills our hunger for righteousness through His perfect life and sacrificial death, which grants us justification by faith.

Jesus embodies and fulfills the righteousness that every believer longs for, as He is described as the Lord our righteousness in Jeremiah 23:6. His sinless life and sacrificial death on the cross satisfied the demands of God's justice, making it possible for sinners to be justified before Him. Romans 3:22 explains that 'the righteousness of God is revealed through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe.' Thus, those who hunger and thirst after righteousness find their fulfillment in Christ's finished work, whereby they are declared righteous not by their own deeds but through faith in Him.
