How does Jesus fulfill the role of a high priest?

Answered in 2 sources

Jesus fulfills the high priest role by offering Himself as the ultimate sacrifice and continually interceding for believers.

Jesus embodies the true high priest as outlined in scripture by not only offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice for sin but also by continually interceding for His people before the Father. He carried out redemptive tasks with unwavering dedication, beginning with His work on earth and extending to His current ministry in heaven. The Old Testament high priests served in a shadowy capacity, offering animal sacrifices; however, Jesus’ sacrifice is once and for all, effecting eternal redemption. His priestly work brings us near to God, granting us access to His throne of grace.
