How does Jesus provide rest to those who come to Him?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus provides rest by taking our burdens and offering forgiveness and righteousness in Him.

Jesus provides rest through His complete redemptive work on the cross, where He bore the weight of our sins. In coming to Him, believers receive not only forgiveness but also righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 states, 'For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.' This reflects the great exchange: our burdens are lifted as He takes on our sin, and we are clothed in His righteousness. Thus, true rest encompasses both relief from our spiritual despair and the assurance of our standing before God, allowing us to approach Him confidently.
