How does knowing God's character affect our prayer life?

Answered in 1 source

Knowing God's character reassures us of His faithfulness and shapes the way we approach prayer.

Understanding God's character is foundational to a vibrant prayer life. When we grasp His attributes—such as His faithfulness, goodness, and mercy—we approach Him with confidence and trust. For instance, recognizing that God is loving and righteous (Psalm 86:15) encourages us to cast our cares on Him because we know He desires our ultimate good. Furthermore, knowing He is sovereign helps us submit our requests to Him with the trust that His answers are for our benefit, whether they are 'yes,' 'no,' or 'wait.' Our awareness of who God is directly influences our attitude in prayer and strengthens our relationship with Him.
