How does obedience relate to faith in the Christian life?

Answered in 2 sources

Obedience is the manifestation of faith, demonstrating that one believes and trusts in Christ's saving work.

In Christianity, obedience is the natural outflow of a genuine faith. While salvation is through faith alone, true faith will produce a change in one’s life, leading to obedience to God's commands. The Scriptures affirm that faith without works is dead (James 2:26), meaning that true belief will inevitably result in a desire to live in accordance with God’s will. However, this obedience is not a means of earning salvation but rather a response to the grace already received through faith in Christ, who fulfilled the law on our behalf.
