How does obedience relate to justification?

Answered in 1 source

Obedience is the evidence of a justified faith, demonstrating a true belief in Christ.

Obedience is a necessary evidence of true saving faith as outlined in James 2:17, which states that faith without works is dead. While justification itself is accomplished through Christ's righteousness, true believers will manifest their faith through obedience to God. This does not mean that obedience causes justification, but rather it is the natural outflow of a heart transformed by grace, affirming the genuineness of one's faith.
