How does one learn the truth of God's grace in their life?

Answered in 1 source

One often learns the truth of God's grace through personal affliction and recognition of their own helplessness.

The truth of God's grace is often revealed to individuals through their experiences of affliction and distress. As indicated in Psalm 107, those who wander and find themselves in trouble cry out to the Lord and discover His mercy. Similarly, Jonah learns about God's grace while in the belly of the fish, recognizing his desperate condition and ultimately stating, 'I remembered the Lord' (Jonah 2:7). It is in these moments of realization where one recognizes their own inability to save themselves that they grasp the fullness of God's grace and mercy available to them through Christ. This journey from despair to hope underscores the significance of divine grace in the believer's life.
