How does one receive assurance of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Assurance of salvation comes from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and belief in the truth of the gospel.

The assurance of salvation is a gift granted to believers through the Holy Spirit's presence in their lives. Ephesians 1:14 reveals that the Holy Spirit serves as a guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession. This internal testimony of the Spirit confirms a believer’s status as a child of God. Additionally, assurance is fortified through the recognition of the objective truth found in God’s Word, where promises of salvation and acceptance are unequivocally stated. Thus, both the Spirit's witness and biblical truth provide a solid foundation for the assurance of salvation.
