How does Paul’s love for the church reflect God’s love?

Answered in 1 source

Paul's love and sacrifice for the church are a reflection of God's greater love for His people.

In 1 Thessalonians 2:8, Paul expresses his deep affection for the church, stating, 'so being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to impart unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.' This sacrificial love mirrors the love of God as described in Romans 5:8, where it says, 'But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.' Just as Paul was willing to give himself entirely for the benefit of others, God's love is characterized by a willingness to sacrifice for His chosen people. This profound love compels believers to serve and love one another in the same way.
