How does prayer help with complaints and troubles?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer offers a space to lay out our complaints before God and seek His help in times of trouble.

David's example in Psalm 142 illustrates the necessity of presenting our complaints before God during our troubled times. By pouring out our grievances, we acknowledge our dependence on Him to handle our struggles. This act of prayer becomes a means of catharsis, helping us to process our emotions and troubles. God encourages us to cast all our cares upon Him, as He genuinely cares for us. Through prayer, we can lay out our burdens and receive comfort and strength in return, as God assures us of His presence and support in our lives.
