How does pride affect our ability to seek advice?

Answered in 1 source

Pride can prevent us from recognizing our need for advice and wisdom from others.

Pride breeds contention, as noted in Proverbs 13:10, and leads us to dismiss the valuable insights and wisdom that others may offer. When wrapped in self-sufficiency, we often overlook the importance of counsel from those who are spiritually mature. Recognizing our own limitations and the necessity of guidance from both God and others is crucial for spiritual growth. A humble heart seeks advice, acknowledges the need for wisdom, and opens itself to being taught, while pride isolates and disregards valuable input.
