How does pride hinder our relationship with God?

Answered in 2 sources

Pride can blind us to our need for God’s mercy, keeping us from true repentance and healing.

In the sermon, it is highlighted that pride obstructs our understanding of our true condition as sinners. Naaman initially resisted the humble command to dip in the Jordan out of pride and a belief that he could find a better solution. This reflects how pride distorts our view of God's requirements and makes us resistant to His grace. Proverbs 16:18 warns that pride goes before destruction, illustrating how it can lead to spiritual downfall and distance from God.
