How does Psalm 91 relate to the life of Jesus?

Answered in 1 source

Psalm 91 contains promises that were fulfilled in the life of Jesus, showing His trust in the Father's protection.

Psalm 91 is significant not only for its reassuring promises but also for its direct application to the life of Jesus Christ. During His time on earth, Jesus reminded Himself of these very promises as He faced temptation and opposition. In the wilderness, when the devil tempted Him to jump off the pinnacle of the temple, he quoted Psalm 91:11-12, which speaks of God's angels protecting Him. However, Jesus' trust in His Father and the fulfillment of the Father's promises serve as a model for us. As our Savior, Christ experienced the complete faithfulness of God, and His reliance on these promises anchors our faith. Thus, Jesus' perfect trust in His Father exemplifies how we, too, should commune with our hearts, trusting in God's protection and faithfulness.
