How does regeneration relate to faith in salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Regeneration and faith are inseparable in salvation; we believe because we are regenerated by God (Ephesians 2:8).

Regeneration is the act of God by which He imparts spiritual life to the dead, enabling true faith. Ephesians 2:8 clarifies that salvation is a gift from God, and it is not a result of faith as a human decision, but rather that faith itself is a response to God's regenerative work in the heart. Hence, genuine belief stems from being made alive in Christ, which the Holy Spirit accomplishes in the hearts of those whom God has chosen before the foundation of the world.
