How does sin affect our good deeds?

Answered in 1 source

Sin taints all our good deeds, making them unclean and inadequate before God (Isaiah 64:6).

According to Isaiah 64:6, sin fundamentally corrupts our deeds to the extent that even our most admirable intentions are rendered insufficient before God. The fallacy is thinking that some actions can be inherently good when in fact they stem from a corrupted heart. This understanding reveals our need for a Savior, as true righteousness can only come through faith in Jesus Christ, who alone can cleanse us and offer us genuine goodness before God. Without recognizing this, we risk presenting our sinful deeds as deserving righteousness, which ultimately leads to divine disapproval.
