How does sin affect our relationship with God as Creator?

Answered in 1 source

Sin disrupts the relationship between God and man, leading to spiritual death and alienation from the Creator.

Sin significantly impacts the relationship between God and humanity, introducing separation and spiritual death. Initially, man was created to live in perfect communion with God, fully alive through the 'breath of life' that God provided. However, with the entrance of sin, this relationship was fractured. Scripture teaches that when sin entered the world, it caused not only physical death but also a deeper spiritual death, rendering man incapable of fulfilling his purpose as a living soul intended to glorify God. The disobedience of Adam emphasizes humanity's need for redemption and the restoration of that relationship through Jesus Christ, who brings life to those who are dead in their sins.
