How does suffering affect our eternal glory?

Answered in 1 source

Suffering in this life produces an eternal glory that greatly outweighs our temporary troubles.

The concept of suffering is closely intertwined with the idea of eternal glory in the Christian faith. As articulated in 2 Corinthians 4:17, the present sufferings are described as light afflictions, which work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. This perspective allows believers to view their difficulties in the light of God’s eternal purposes, knowing that their afflictions are momentary and serve a greater good. Thus, enduring suffering with faith ensures that it leads to a deeper appreciation of God’s grace and eventual participation in the glory that awaits us.
