How does the gospel fulfill the law?

Answered in 1 source

The gospel fulfills the law by providing the righteousness that the law demands, achieved through Jesus Christ.

The law reveals God's standard of holiness and our inability to meet it, but the gospel declares that through Christ, we are made righteous (Romans 8:3-4). Jesus' sacrificial death and resurrection satisfy the demands of the law, providing us with a perfect standing before God. This means that while the law exposes our sin, the gospel offers forgiveness and the imputed righteousness of Christ, making it possible for us to live in accordance with God's will.
