How does the Holy Spirit help believers?

Answered in 6 sources

The Holy Spirit enlightens believers to understand Christ's work and applies it to their hearts, assuring them of their salvation (Romans 5:5).

Romans 5:5 states, 'And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.' The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in the life of a believer by illuminating the truth of God's Word, applying the redemptive work of Christ to our hearts, and assuring us of our salvation. He nurtures our faith and empowers us to live according to God's will, transforming us as we grow in our understanding of His love. The Spirit also helps us in our weakness, guiding us toward righteous living and spiritual maturity.
