The Holy Spirit confirms our sonship and provides inner assurance of our salvation in Christ.

The Holy Spirit plays an essential role in providing believers with assurance of their salvation. Romans 8:16 affirms that the Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Through His work in our lives, the Holy Spirit illuminates Scripture and assures us of our position in Christ. This assurance is not based on our actions or feelings but on the reality of our relationship with Christ, who died for our sins. As we grow in understanding and faith, the Spirit empowers us to live confidently in our identity before God.
