How does the lampstand illustrate the role of the church?

The lampstand in the tabernacle represents the church's mission in the world: to reflect the light of Christ. Just as the lampstand illuminated the holy place, believers are called to let their light shine before others (Matthew 5:16). This light is not of our own making but is derived from Christ, who is the true light. The church, as the body of Christ, embodies this light, intended to draw others to Him through the proclamation of the Gospel. As we depend on Christ for our light, we fulfill our purpose by holding forth the word of life, leading others from darkness to the light of salvation.
