How does the law drive us to Christ?

Answered in 2 sources

The law exposes our sinfulness and points us to our need for Christ as the only source of righteousness (Galatians 3:24).

The law serves a crucial role in the believer's life by revealing the holiness of God and the vast gap between His perfection and our sinful nature. As outlined in Galatians 3:24, the law acts as a schoolmaster that leads us to Christ, illustrating our inability to achieve righteousness on our own. It functions to identify and condemn sin, allowing individuals to recognize their need for a Savior. Without the law, we might deceive ourselves into thinking we could attain righteousness through our efforts. By understanding the law’s purpose, believers become acutely aware of their shortcomings and are thus compelled to place their faith in Jesus Christ alone, who perfectly fulfilled the law and provides the righteousness necessary for salvation.
