How does the law relate to faith in salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The law serves to reveal our sinfulness, but faith in Christ is what genuinely justifies us before God.

The law, defined as the perfect standard of holiness, reveals both God's nature and human inability to meet its demands. As highlighted in Galatians 3:11, no man is justified by the law because everyone falls short of its requirements. Instead, faith in Christ's fulfillment of the law and His atoning sacrifice is what justifies the sinner. This notion is essential in sovereign grace theology, which teaches that our standing before God is based upon grace through faith, not our works. Thus, the law drives us to Christ, affirming the critical role of faith in the salvation process.
