How does the law relate to the Christian life?

Answered in 1 source

The law reveals God’s righteousness but does not serve as the guiding rule for Christians, who are led by the Spirit.

While the law is holy and good, it serves primarily to expose sin and lead us to Christ, as articulated in Galatians 3:24-25. Believers are not under the law but are guided by the Spirit, which directs their hearts and actions in faith. The commands of the law are not abandoned; rather, they find their fulfillment in Christ, who empowers believers to live righteously. This relationship signifies that true righteousness is evidenced through the believer’s obedience to God’s voice through the Spirit rather than a rigid adherence to a code of conduct. Therefore, while the law showcases God’s standard, it is through a new life in Christ that believers fulfil the essence of the law, walking in love and grace.
