How does the law reveal our need for salvation?

Answered in 2 sources

The law serves to highlight our sinfulness and inability to achieve righteousness, demonstrating our need for salvation through Christ (Galatians 2:16).

The law is given not only to provide instructions for moral living but also as a mirror to reveal humanity's sinful nature. As seen in Galatians 2:16, no one can attain righteousness through the law. Instead, its purpose is to expose our sinful condition, leading us to understand our dire need for salvation. When we grasp the weight of the law and our inability to fulfill it, it drives us to seek grace through Jesus Christ, who provides the righteousness we cannot achieve on our own. The law thus becomes a guide pointing us toward our reliance on God's mercy.
