How does the law serve as a guide for Christians today?

Answered in 1 source

The law serves as a moral guide, revealing God’s character and the righteousness required for His people, yet it ultimately points to the need for grace through Christ.

Today, the law operates not merely as a set of rules but as a reflection of God's unchanging character and the standard of holiness He requires of His people. It acts as a mirror, showing humanity's inability to achieve righteousness on their own. While Christians are not bound by Old Testament civil laws, the moral principles underlying these laws remain relevant. They reveal God's expectations and provide a framework for living a life that honors Him. However, the law also teaches that human efforts will never suffice; thus, it drives believers to rely completely on grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who fulfilled the law perfectly on their behalf.
