How does the Lord use our past for His glory?

Answered in 1 source

God transforms our past struggles into testimonies that can encourage others and bring Him glory.

In the case of the man from Mark 5, after being freed from demonic possession, he desired to follow Christ. However, Jesus instructed him to return home and tell others about the great things God had done for him. This act of testimony illustrates how the Lord can use our histories, often filled with pain or sin, as powerful tools for evangelism. When others see our transformation, they are drawn to the one who can also save them, showcasing God's mercy and grace.
