How does the pruning process work in the Christian life?

Answered in 1 source

Pruning in the Christian life is God's process of refining and removing obstacles to spiritual growth.

Pruning, as mentioned in John 15:2, represents God's active work in the lives of believers to enhance spiritual fruitfulness. This process involves removing unfruitful elements, which can include sin, pride, and distractions that hinder our relationship with Christ. The Lord, as the husbandman, knows what is needed for each believer to grow more holy and fruitful. By humbling and breaking us, He enables us to rely solely on His grace, leading to deeper faith and increased obedience. Through the trials and challenges of life, God purges us so that we might bear more fruit, ultimately displaying His glory through our lives.
