How does the resurrection relate to the new birth?

Answered in 1 source

The new birth is a spiritual resurrection that signifies our transition from death to life in Christ.

The resurrection relates closely to the new birth in that they both reflect a transition from death to life. The new birth, or regeneration, is essentially a spiritual resurrection. Ephesians 2:4-5 teaches us that God, in His mercy, 'hath quickened us together with Christ.' This spiritual awakening is what enables believers to have faith and live in the hope of the physical resurrection to come. It is foundational for understanding one's identity in Christ; through this new birth, we participate in the resurrection life now and look forward to our future bodily resurrection. Thus, the new birth is both an assurance and a present reality of the resurrection.
