How does the righteousness of God relate to our acceptance with Him?

Answered in 1 source

God’s righteousness demands perfect obedience, which is fulfilled in Christ for our acceptance.

The righteousness of God is defined by His own perfect character and serves as the standard by which all humans are measured. Romans articulates that God demands absolute conformity to His law. In the gospel, we find that Jesus Christ, through His perfect life, is not only the representation of that righteousness but also the fulfillment of the demands of God's law. Thus, our acceptance with God hinges on His provision—Jesus’ righteousness—rather than our own works or qualities.
