How does the story of the Passover relate to Christian salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Passover foreshadows the redemptive work of Christ, who saves believers from sin and judgment.

The Passover is often seen as a type or foreshadowing of Christ's redemptive work. In Exodus 12, the Israelites were instructed to sacrifice a perfect lamb and put its blood on their doorposts to be spared from judgment. This event parallels Jesus’ sacrifice; He is the unblemished Lamb whose blood redeems believers from the ultimate judgment of sin. Just as the Israelites needed to be under the blood of the lamb to escape death, Christians are saved through faith in the blood of Christ. This connection highlights God’s unchanging nature and His plan for salvation that transcends time.
