How does the tabernacle relate to Christ's incarnation?

Answered in 1 source

The tabernacle foreshadows Christ's incarnation as both a dwelling place for God among His people and a symbol of His presence in the flesh.

The tabernacle in the Old Testament serves as a significant type of Christ's incarnation. Just as the tabernacle was the place where God dwelled among the Israelites, Christ tabernacled among us in His earthly ministry (John 1:14). The tabernacle was a temporary structure, symbolic of God's presence among His people during their journey, which parallels how Christ’s earthly presence was also temporary. Furthermore, in the tabernacle, sacrifices were made for atonement, foreshadowing Christ’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross, where He paid for the sins of humanity, fulfilling the shadow of the sacrificial system established in the Old Covenant.
