How does unbelief hinder our spiritual race?

Answered in 1 source

Unbelief is the primary obstacle in our spiritual race, causing doubt and hindering our ability to see God's glory.

Unbelief acts as a significant barrier in the life of a believer, as illustrated in Hebrews 12:1-4. The singular sin that 'easily besets' us is primarily unbelief, which can lead to spiritual stagnation. Unbelief caused the disciples to doubt Jesus during a storm (Mark 4:38) and led Martha and Mary to question Him (John 11:21). Such doubts detract from our spiritual journey by causing our hands to hang down, weakening our resolve, and diverting our attention from Christ. Overcoming unbelief is essential for experiencing God’s faithfulness and the fullness of His grace during our race of faith.
