How does unbelief insult God's love?

Answered in 1 source

Unbelief insults God's love by rejecting the gift of His Son, who was given for our redemption.

Unbelief is a direct affront to God's unparalleled love, as it signifies a refusal to accept the incredible sacrifice He made in giving His only Son for our salvation. The act of rejecting this offered gift is akin to spurning the deepest expressions of love and compassion that originate from the heart of God. For instance, God offered His Son as the 'unspeakable gift' (2 Corinthians 9:15), and to dismiss this offer is to diminish His love to mere indifference. In the face of such profound love shown by God, unbelief embodies a hard-hearted response, dismissing the very means by which God seeks to reconcile humanity to Himself. Thus, it not only turns away from salvation but also questions the goodness of God.
