How does unforgiveness affect Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Unforgiveness leads to spiritual blindness, bitterness, and hindered worship for Christians.

Unforgiveness poses a serious threat to the spiritual health of Christians. It can blind individuals to their own sin, leading to a distorted view of themselves and others. Proverbs 14:30 shows that envy and bitterness can rot the bones, pointing to the physical and spiritual consequences of holding onto grievances. When we choose not to forgive, we not only harm our relationships with others but also our relationship with God. Our worship is hindered, as true worship cannot come from a heart filled with resentment and bitterness. Christians are called to experience the grace of God actively, and unforgiveness barricades this grace, preventing them from living in peace and joy.
