How is faith connected to our identity in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is essential in uniting believers to Christ, making them joint heirs and securing their identity as children of God.

In Hebrews, the relationship between faith and our identity in Christ is vividly illustrated. Believers are seen as joint heirs with Christ, sharing in His inheritance because of their union with Him through faith. This faith is itself a gift from God, establishing the believer's identity as a child of God. It is by faith that we access the promises of God, enable us to strive toward holiness, and assure us of our place in the family of God. Our identity is thus grounded in what Christ has accomplished on our behalf; by trusting in Him, we embody our calling as those justified and sanctified through His sacrifice.
