How is the love of Christ different from human love?

Answered in 1 source

The love of Christ is unconditional, sacrificial, and eternal, unlike human love which can fluctuate based on circumstances.

The love that Christ offers is unique because it is not contingent upon the worthiness of its recipients. As highlighted in John 15:13, Jesus demonstrated the greatest love by laying down His life for His friends. This love is characterized by permanence and does not wane over time or through the weaknesses and failings of those He loves. In contrast, human love can often be conditional, dictated by emotions or circumstances. The love of Christ remains steadfast, highlighting the profound and transformational power of His grace in the lives of believers.
