How should Christians respond to doubts about their faith?

Answered in 2 sources

Christians should respond to doubts with prayer, examination of Scripture, and seeking counsel from mature believers.

Doubts in one's faith can often arise from introspection, the weight of sins, or misconceptions regarding God’s promises. In such times, believers are encouraged to turn to prayer and Scripture for assurance and clarity. Psalm 42 reflects the turmoil of doubt and the need to remember God's faithfulness. Seeking counsel from mature believers can also provide comfort and accountability, as the community of faith is meant to support one another. Ultimately, returning to the foundational truths of the gospel and God's character—His unchanging nature and His covenant promises—can provide the hope and confidence needed to overcome doubt and strengthen belief.
