How should Christians respond to the concept of idolatry today?

Answered in 1 source

Christians should continually examine their hearts to identify and reject any modern forms of idolatry that distract from faith in Christ.

In a world where many forms of idolatry can go unnoticed, Christians are called to vigilance—constantly inspecting their hearts for anything that competes with their devotion to God. Idolatry isn't limited to physical statues but can include anything that takes the place of trust in Christ, such as material possessions, self-reliance, or even misplaced confidence in religious practices. Isaiah 46 serves as a reminder to heed the Lord’s call to recognize and dismantle modern idols, ensuring our trust and allegiance remain solely with the Creator who carries and sustains us.
