How should Christians view miracles today?

Answered in 1 source

Christians should view miracles as God's sovereign work and not as something guaranteed or channeled through individuals.

Miracles in the New Testament served specific purposes, primarily to authenticate the apostolic message and demonstrate the power of God. While God can and does perform miraculous works, there's an important distinction made that individuals do not possess the 'gift of healing' as a guarantee to be exercised at will. In the history of the church, legitimate miracles align with a biblical foundation of doctrine and are never an end in themselves. Therefore, as Christians, we are called to trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, recognizing that His will may not always align with our desires for miraculous intervention.
