How should we pray during difficult times?

Answered in 1 source

Pray with humility, recognizing God's sovereignty and love, and entrust your cares to Him.

During difficult times, our prayers should reflect a recognition of God's sovereignty and a reliance on His wisdom. The sisters did not attempt to dictate what Jesus should do; instead, they simply informed Him of Lazarus's condition, saying, 'he whom thou lovest is sick' (John 11:3). This illustrates a humble approach in prayer that casts cares on the Lord without presumption. Additionally, we should seek God's will above our desires, as Jesus exemplified in His prayer in Gethsemane, saying, 'not my will, but yours be done' (Luke 22:42). In doing so, we acknowledge that He knows best, trusting in His goodness regardless of our circumstances.
