Is it only the gospel that matters for Christians to agree on?

Answered in 1 source

While the gospel is central, Christians should also agree on other essential truths of the faith.

The gospel indeed holds the utmost importance as the foundation of our faith, but there are other essential theological truths that support and enrich it. These include doctrines like the deity of Christ, the atonement, and justification by faith alone. Disagreements arise due to our sinfulness and the varying interpretations of Scripture, but it is crucial to recognize that not all disagreements diminish the essential truth. In heaven, we will all agree, but for now, it's vital to differentiate between essential doctrines vital for salvation and secondary issues that, while significant, do not define the faith. Unity in essential truths strengthens the body of Christ and allows for diverse opinions on non-essential matters.
