What are precious trials and their purpose for believers?

Answered in 1 source

Precious trials are God-ordained tests that refine faith and serve a greater purpose for believers' growth and joy.

Precious trials, as described in 1 Peter 1:6-7, are tests that can bring heaviness but ultimately serve to refine a believer's faith. These trials are designed by God for the spiritual benefit of His children, helping to reveal the authenticity of faith and to purge away sin. They may seem burdensome at the time, but the promise of Scripture is that they work together for good for those who love God (Romans 8:28). Like gold purified in fire, believers' faith is made more precious through adversity, which also prepares them for the praise and honor at the revelation of Christ.
